The Yorkshire Common Application Form (YCAF) was developed by the 10-strong YCAF Task Force and during the development phase (July 2021 – July 2022) a number of funding advisors, frontline charities and community groups were consulted in order to create the final form. The YCAF is recommended for grants in the region of £5,000 or less.

The responsibility of updates to the YCAF now lie with the Yorkshire Funders’ Aligned Working Network which stemmed from the YCAF Task Force. The network group meet twice a year to discuss any changes to be made.

We are encouraging local funders of all sizes and types to adopt the YCAF so that over time grant seekers will find that they are being asked the same questions, in the same format by more and more Yorkshire funders.

As of October 2024, the following funders are now using the YCAF and it is available on their website or by contacting them directly:

  • ASDA Foundation
  • Craven Trust
  • East Riding of Yorkshire Council
  • Friends of St Monica’s Hospital
  • Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust
  • Prosper Wakefield
  • Sir George Martin Trust
  • South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation
  • Talbot Trusts
  • Tarn Moor Estate
  • Two Ridings Community Foundation
  • Wellsprings Together
  • Woodsmith Foundation

*Please note that as the YCAF has evolved and more funders now use it, grant seekers may find that some funders who use the YCAF have a few more additional questions as their organisation has to have these. We believe that this is better than them using a completely different set of questions and format and hope grant seekers still find it helpful to see generally the same questions being asked from more and more grantmakers.

YCAF WORD TEMPLATE UPDATED OCT 2024 The final questions, 31 – 40 are optional for funders to include.

Grant seekers will need to get in touch with each funder using the YCAF directly and funders need to get a specific Jotform online link from Yorkshire Funders if they wish to start using the online YCAF and don’t have their own digital system.
