27 July YFF news update

  • IVAR has published its eighth Covid-19 briefing for trusts and foundations, Finding a way forward, based on their conversations with 41 leaders of VCSE organisations between 17th June and 5th The organisation is also looking for some new trustees who bring life experience and a passion for the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector. IVAR are hoping to build a board that reflects the diversity of communities that they seek to serve. The deadline for applications is the 1st September and further information can be found here.
  • Derek Bardowell, a writer, philanthropy adviser and former director of programmes at the Stephen Lawrence Trust was a panelist at ACF’s recent webinar on foundation responses to the disproportionate impact of the pandemic on BAME people and he has written an important blog titled Covid-19 and racial disparity a time for urgent action
  • Voluntary Action Leeds (VAL) has published its report: Third Sector Resilience in West Yorkshire & Harrogate – Before & During Covid-19 and York CVS’s Covid-19 Sector Report also includes some interesting insights.
  • Community Foundation Wakefield District are recruiting a new Head of Development. With the retirement of the current post-holder this autumn, the organisation is looking for an experienced fundraiser with a passion for community development. S/he will have a strong vision for how the foundation can achieve and surpass its potential and income targets, capitalising on the opportunities available locally, regionally and nationally with particular reference to business and their commitment to supporting the communities of Wakefield District.
